PARTNERS APPOINTMENT
Pregnancy is a massive period of change for both the mother to be, but also their partner. Many partners have not had much interaction with the medical profession prior to their partner’s pregnancy and often feel that their needs are not a priority, with the focus being on the pregnancy and the mother.
The Western Obstetrics Partner Appointments addresses some of the issues that partner’s often experience during pregnancy, while also helping them prepare for the impending parenthood. As many partner’s often do not seek out medical attention regularly, it is an opportunity to undertake general health screening.
The following appointments are offered to the partner, throughout the pregnancy:
14-16 WEEK APPOINTMENT
Initial triage to collect information from the partner regarding their health and lifestyle and discuss immunisation history and vaccinations.
28 WEEK APPOINTMENT
Partner vaccinations administered
30+ WEEK APPOINTMENT
Full medical assessment, discussion of expectations in the postnatal period and how you plan on co-parenting.
