General Practitioner Obstetrician

Various Locations: Rockingham-Midland-Balcatta

Western Obstetrics are seeking suitably qualified General Practitioner Obstetricians to join our expanding team of highly motivated, collegial team of GPO’s and Midwives.

Our Vision is to provide exceptional maternity care and continuous support to all patients, both during and after the birth of the baby, via excellence in continuity of care from trusted healthcare professionals.

The Role

  • Provide high quality outpatient clinical services to Public patients in a private clinic environment. (MBS Billing)
  • Availability to work on a 24-hour roster to cover on-call
  • Available to work 1 in 4/6 weekends on-call
  • This position is Fee for Service

About You

  • Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
  • Fellowship of the Australian College of General Practitioners (RANZCOG)
  • Eligibility to hold a valid Provider Number in order to claim Medicare Benefits
  • Proven clinical experience, which demonstrates the ability to exercise sound clinical ability and judgment
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact appropriately, ethically and responsibly with patients from varied ethnic backgrounds, their families and all members of the health care team

Qualifications & experience

Essential Requirements 

  • Registered Midwife (AHPRA) 
  • Recent neonatal resuscitation certificate Current BLS (First Aid) 
  • Current Working with Children certificate 
  • Immunisation certificate 
  • Recent antenatal & postnatal care experience 
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Flexibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Confident, competent, and dedicated to providing women-centred care Desirable 
  • Current Endorsed/Eligible Midwife Registration
  • Current RN Qualification & Registration Lactation Consultant or IBCLC Qualification

Tasks & responsibilities

The position will involve several responsibilities, including, however, not limited to: 

  • Patient consultation and support 
  • Provision of education training and support 
  • Assist with patient procedures 
  • Maintaining patient medical records and results 
  • Assisting with recall and patient follow up
  • Monitoring and maintaining clinic equipment 
  • Ordering and managing clinic stock 
  • Attending to verbal and written patient enquiries 
  • Administrative duties

Eligible Midwife

Qualifications & experience

  • Knowledge and skills in the application of Midwife/Nurse processes in a clinical setting
  • Ability to perform venepuncture, specimen collection and CTG’s. Previous experience with immunisations including Cold Chain management
  • Positive can-do attitude, innovative and solution oriented
  • Ability to provide supervision and manage a small team of similar qualification/skill set
  • Excellent Leadership skills, customer service skills and communication skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Dedicated to best practice as applicable
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Midwife and Reg. Nurse or as Midwife.
  • Completed Endorsement qualification, Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR certification, Immunisation Certificate desirable
  • Minimum two years clinical setting experience preferred

  • The role is responsible for providing efficient and professional clinical and administration support. Providing support, training and business strategy guidance, whilst monitoring and managing performance for the Midwife group.

Clinic Administration/Receptionist (Part-time)

The Role

The Clinic Administration role is responsible for providing efficient and professional administration and receptionist duties at our clinic locations. The front line, face to face role holds a responsibility to promote our reputation and display a premium level of respect, communication and service whilst dealing with our patients, employees, managers and contractors.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The position will involve several responsibilities, including, however, not limited to:

  • Patient liaison, front desk reception duties
  • Maintaining patient medical records and results
  • Scheduling of patient appointments and managing diary schedules
  • Waitroom and reception area management and maintenance
  • Daily invoicing and receipting (Medicare batch and receipt)
  • Assisting with recall and patient follow up
  • Monitoring and maintaining clinic equipment
  • Attending to verbal and written patient enquiries
  • Administrative duties

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work without supervision, and within a team
  • Good computer skills – applications such as Word, Outlook, Internet and preferable experience with Genie or equivalent medical billing software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Dedicated to best practice as applicable

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum two years administration experience preferred
  • Medical Administration experience highly regarded
